Aerospace
This 24 hour course covers all the theoretical aspects of the visual method and includes processes of improving visual inspection reliability and the use of a variety of visual equipment.

Course Content

Aerospace product technology. Introduction to visual inspection. Definitions. Vision. Lighting. Material attributes. Environmental and physiological factors. Visual perception. Equipment. Employer-defined applications. Visual testing to specific procedures. Discontinuities. Recording and reports.

Learning objectives

1.At the conclusion of this course the student should be able to: 2.Describe the basic principles of the visual test method; 3.List several applications of the visual test method; 4.List the types of discontinuities detected with the visual test method; 5.Describe the cause and effect of various types of discontinuities; 6.Describe the operational steps in the visual test method and understand the importance of each step; 7.Perform a visual examination, following a written procedure; 8.Interpret and evaluate the test results with respect to the applicable standards; 9.Complete the required test reports; 10.Prepare a written procedure; and 11.Pass the end of course test.
