About AIT

Aerospace Inspection Training was recently acquired by Morgan Ward (NDT) Ltd which is an EASA and FAA approved NDT Service Inspection Company. Within the group is also NDT Maincal Limited that provide a calibration/repair facility for most NDT equipment and also provide radiation protection advice and training.

Aerospace Inspection Training (AIT) has been providing training and examinations in Non-destructive Testing for the international aerospace industry including airlines, maintenance and overhaul companies and aerospace manufacturers for 25 years.

The AIT British Institute of NDT approved training centre holds ISO 9001-2000 accreditation and we are the only NDT training organisation in the UK with this accreditation.

Our ISO 9001-2000 accredited examination centre offers PCN Central Certification Examinations and corporate qualification examinations to meet the requirements of EN 4179 and NAS 410.

Boeing Vendor Approval allows us to offer qualification examinations in accordance with BSS 7698.

We are an Approved Learning Provider (Reference Number 1765) for the MoD’s Enhanced Learning Credit Scheme (ELCAS).

We are a BINDT approved Outside Agency and are able to provide Nominated Level 3 services in accordance with EN 4179 and EASA Part 145.

All our training and examination personnel are PCN and/or ASNT Level Three certified and hold BAE Level 3 approval.

Scheduled courses include Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Radiography, Radiation Safety, Visual Testing, Bond Testing, and Etch Inspection.

Seminars are offered in NDT Awareness courses for Managers, Auditing NDT Systems, and Ageing Aircraft and Corrosion Control.

All courses and seminars are available on-site worldwide.

Our Goals

Facilities

Aerospace Inspection Training is ideally situated in a purpose built hangar and classroom facility on Norwich Airport, which is 100 miles northeast of London.

The Norwich School has four fully equipped premium classrooms with whiteboards, overhead projectors and natural light, creating a professional and personal learning environment.

Our laboratories are fully equipped for practical work in every NDT method, with a full range of NDT equipment from various manufacturers including state-of-the-art digital equipment for eddy current, ultrasonic, penetrant, magnetic particle, radiography and nital etch inspection.

For our students' relaxation there is a coffee lounge with a continuous supply of complimentary beverages and snacks. A complimentary light lunch is also provided for all students and examination candidates.

There is ample private car parking and the facility is only a few minutes walk from the recommended student hotel and regular minibus transportation into the City Centre.

Our student facilities include:

  • Free lunch.
  • Student lounge with free refreshments.
  • Extensive reference and journal library.

Equipment

The training curriculum places great emphasis on hands-on-training to complement the theory of the subject. To support the practical training a large range of NDT equipment is available for the students' use. The equipment, which includes the latest digital technology, is supplied by a number of different manufacturers. This enables the student to acquire hands-on training on a variety of equipment and assess the attributes of hardware from various sources.

Defect Samples

Defect Samples

An essential part of the hands-on training is the inspection of components that exhibit defects likely to be found in the aerospace industry. Aerospace inspection training has accumulated an extensive range of aerospace samples that truly represent the aerospace sector. These include samples related to aircraft production such as carbon composite, aluminium castings, forgings, extrusions, compressor and turbine blades, and samples related to in-service structures and components including corrosion, fatigue, stress corrosion and erosion.
